I've blogged about Kiva before, but today I found this video, and I'd like to share it with as many people as possible.
The great thing about Kiva is that you can make a real difference in someone's life with a very small loan. The money doesn't just disappear into a black hole of bureaucracy - it is carefully managed and repaid over time, becoming available for reinvestment in a new loan (or for withdrawal if you would like the money back).
Anyway, please take a peep at the video:

Great promo video (informative and fun + get you going music)
I've heard of Kiva and wonder if they have any affiliation with the Grameen microeconomic system? Thanks for sharing this and I'll tweet it today.
btw, you are my current blog post! TY again.
GMTA!
I blogged about Kiva this morning, too! Then found your blog through Maureen's.
And Maureen, yes. That is exactly where the idea originated.

Hi Maureen and Cameo,
thank you for your comments!
I'm not sure whether or not Grameen Bank is one of Kiva's field partners (it has attracted considerable criticism over the years), but these microcredit schemes certanily operate on the same philosophy. Kiva also has a dynamic field partner risk rating system, evaluating each organisation's own history and reliability.
I'm off to look at your blog now, Cameo :-)
