Waiting...
Erk! We're trying to be patient as we sit in the transit lounge at Auckland Airport for eleven-and-a-half hours, having been squished on a 3:40am flight from Rarotonga for several hours then finding that our 'connecting' flight has been rescheduled....
I'm feeling very tired, anxious about starting my new job tomorrow and just wanting to get home after a particularly difficult couple of weeks.
.... what I'd really like now is a nice cup of tea. I'm sure it would be all the more comforting if it came with one of Jodie's beautiful teasets!

St Judes
Looking back through some of my links on Delicious this morning, I re-discovered St Jude's beautiful modern British textiles. I love the colours and nostalgic designs.
On a different note, this lovely cardigan from Kayte Terry's book 'Complete Embellishing' caught my eye too (via Posie).
It's so soft and feminine, I adore it!Monday, December 08, 2008
Quilting challenge
I've decided to bite the bullet and learn how to make some quilts. To get myself started I bought some fabric today - the colours are lovely and summery so I'm happy to keep it on my bookshelf until I start piecing it together.

Thank you Reenie-Su, for offering to help me as I learn to do patchworking; ..... I'll also use this lovely book.
I made another drop for the Toy Society today at a lovely little cafe called Each Peach in East Brunswick. They have a wonderful quilt on the wall made from vintage teatowels - makes me wish I hadn't cut up all of mine to use for other projects!

Pssst - fabric sale ..... pass it on!
A little birdy told me that GJ's fabric store is having a sale, which starts next Monday. Melbourne crafty peeps might wish to get down to Lygon St in Brunswick ... don't be put off by the spangled lycra dance costume fabric on the first level, as there is a good selection of designer fabrics in the patchwork/quilting supply section upstairs.

... think I'll treat myself to some long-coveted designs and finally make a start on a quilt for the New Year ....
