Cyclicious!

I know that a wise girl would put any money gained through a tax return straight back into the bank to make it work for her as an assisted savings scheme ....

... but I've decided to treat myself this year to a bit of old-school cycling goodness. Although I have a perfectly functional, sporty bike, I've had my eye on a lovely Velorbis model for a long time now and I think it's time to bring one home.

I'll have to decide between red and black. Your thoughts?

I'm also on the lookout for the perfect trimmings to decorate my basket - with inspiration from here and here.

Oooh! Wouldn't Gus look smart sitting up behind me in a little wicker trailer?

And lastly, I'm going to look for a fabulous bicycle bell. I love this kitsch teapot bell:

and this little pepper just makes me smile - it's so cheesy!

someday, when i am not living in a place surrounded by steep hills with miles between me and the nearest shop, i am going to bring home an old 1940's vintage bike i have stored at my parent's house and get myself a bell and wicker basket too! i constantly daydream about heading off to the store this way, then meandering home with fresh flowers, the paper, and a french baguette at the helm. i had to buy a road bike for where i live now, and going for ride is more of an olympic event than a meander.

i would get the black bike, because it will always match whatever you have on!

Hmmm, black is practical and always in good taste, but red is exciting and daring and always fast and fun....

Thank you for your suggestions! I guess black is always slimming, right?

M.Heart - I'd love to see pictures of your 40's bike when it emerges from storage ....

I can't decide between the pepper or the teapot

Ohhh, just gorgeous! Love a new bike! To buck the trend, my view is definitely the red, so funky, so cute, so different and of course faster if you desired speed on any given day. My vote is for the teapot by the way.
