I really love darkness when it's quiet and still and fragrant and calming, but sometimes, when I'm out of my normal element and can't see what's around me, it generates a visceral sense of fear.
Although I love scuba diving I haven't yet had the courage to go on a night dive. I'm sure it would be fascinating, and hardly more dangerous than a standard dive, but I fear the sense of extreme vulnerability that I'm sure would accompany the darkness underwater.
One day I'd like to try it though! :-)

Oh, I can totally relate. I dont like being somewhere not familiar and everything around you starting to make noise.

Night diving!!! Not for me!!
There is something about being in the dark when you can't see anything, but you know that whatever is out there can see you... it makes the skin prickle. As for diving in the dark - definitely not for me!
Night diving - definately scary material for me.
