I think I prefer being tucked up in my own bed thank you.

How do you like to spend your Thursday evenings? Tonight I spent 40+ minutes squeezed into a noisy and scary machine with my feet tied together, and I didn't like it one bit.

I don't know what was worse - lying cramped and immobile while fighting the sudden, unexpected onset of claustrophobia, or being forced to listen to an excruciatingly horrible Enya CD played at high volume through bulky headphones. Both of these made my heart pound and my stomach churn.

* BTW - thanks for your messages of concern.... No big drama really - just some ongoing bone/tendon/joint issues that really need to be sorted before I start looking like an ancient old crone (believe me, I frequently feel - and move - like one!). I've answered a couple of your comments with another comment  - see below.

Oh no! I hope you're OK? Despite the claustrophobic experience and the Enya torture.

Why do they tie your feet together ???
Enya is some form of torture.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone!

Jodie - they told me that it was just to make sure my legs didn't move. I think the radiologist had more sadistic motives.

OMG Tanya, there's NO WAY I could have fallen asleep in there ... were you totally ensconced in the machine, with the "roof' of the tunnel only an inch away from your face and really 70s style sci-fi alarm noises blaring at you at a squillion decibels the whole time?

I've never had claustrophobia before but this experience made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I blame Enya.

Hope everything is OK! And very sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience (Enya'll do that to ya :) Have a happy weekend... I hope it's more along the lines of the blissfulness described in your 'sweetness & light' post a little while ago, and nothing like this nastiness!
