We sold our house at auction yesterday.
The second bid was well above our reserve price, and we were pleasantly surprised by the end result. Good luck has returned to our little household!(Sweet little wooden houses from here.)

Travel tips please!
Later this year G and I plan to travel to Heidelberg,
Paris,
Venice,
and Florence.
I'm ever so excited! In Paris I plan to seek out some of these gems:
Au Petit Bonheur de la Chance
La Petit Atelier de Paris
Paris Forever
Atelier 154
Kusmi
Marie Louise de Monterey
L'Institut du Monde Arabe
.... as well as many of the delightful places described here, here and here. (I wonder if G realises that I'm planning such a busy time?!).
Please let me know if you can recommend any special shops, sights or experiences in any of these cities ... I'd love to try them and I'll happily report back!

Pulpy goodness
This evening, via Pia Jane Pijkerk, I found two wonderful artists who make beautiful, unexpected items from paper pulp.
Magie Hollingworth's utensils are gloriously tactile, begging to be touched ....
They seem strong yet somehow fragile ...

Poor old G, feeling rather sore and sorry after another operation ...
Our goal is to get through next year with no more hospital visits!
A big thank you to everyone at the ANZ IPMP who sent a lovely hamper of delicious goodies - I'm sure they'll brighten his week and help him get back on his feet :-)
Luckily we haven't encountered this problem at the hospital yet:

The Lindy Charm School for Girls
What better way to spend a windy winter's afternoon than surrounding oneself with beauty and elegance, laughter and red lipstick?It was fun meeting up with my good friend Kat, Mistresses Chrissy, Kim, Carly and others to celebrate the delights of old-school glamour!
Now I feel inspired to persevere with those finicky pincurls, experiment more with sweeps, and make some rats so that I can tackle the true victory roll. Patience and practice ought to make perfect ....(vintage Ponds advertisement from ? via SuperKawaiiMama)
