Today I found Mike Libby's strangely beautiful Insect Lab. He customises real insects with antique watch parts and electronic components.

Patience is a virtue

- I know, I know!

Laid up again with prolapsed discs .... it's very fustrating, painful and often completely debilitating. Boooo! I think I have quite a high pain threshold but it does get me down, and I hate the way G has to be my carer when he's busy, tired, or wanting to get out and about.

We had planned to have dinner with Lisa & Bryan tonight but Bryan came to us this morning instead to help me out, eventually sticking a whole lot of needles into my back to treat the inflammation. Eeek!

I've been really keen to get back into regular swing dancing and bike riding lately, especially on these fabulously sunny spring days,




so I guess this is the point where I'll have to commit to a proper rehab routine.....

Hope I'll be jitterbugging soon!

So many things to see and write....

.... so little time!

Things have been very quiet on my little blog recently. I've been feeling a bit run down and busy, and although there are lots of things I'd like to write about/show/link to etc, this blog often seems to make its way to the bottom of my 'To do' list ...

I did go to a Time & Workload Management course the other day - better get some strategies in place and my life back into some semblance of order!

Breathless!

Oh, be still my beating heart! I spent the weekend enthralled by speakers, images and landscapes at the Australian Landscape Conference ..... what a wonderful way to recharge and be flooded with inspiration!

We visited the fabulous Royal Botanic Gardens at Cranbourne, Di Johnson's exquisite Garden Vineyard, and Dame Elizabeth Murdoch's deliciously understated Cruden Farm, among others.

Eduardo Mencos, Rick Darke and Bernie Trainor made the strongest impressions on me, but I was also very inspired by the work of Tracy Disabato-Aust, Charles Quest-Ritson and Patrick Blanc. Click here for more pics of Patrick's work.

I bought Rick Darke's book about grasses and am keen to spend more time exploring the beauty of our urban grasslands too. I like walking Gus at Royal Park in Parkville beause it provides a lovely sense of space so close to the city center.
