Saturday cycling
We rode our bikes down to Docklands today ... it's a rather soul-less and uninspiring place but at least the weather was cheery. I think Spring is just around the corner!
I love August in Melbourne for the explosion of magnolia blooms ...
and the more frilly and delicate cherry blossoms.

Mata nihon e ...
Well, it looks as though I'm going back to Japan again after all... The University of Melbourne runs a student exchange program with a horticultural college in Aichi Prefecture each year, and I'll be heading over there for a few weeks after my exams. I'll certainly miss G and G madly while I'm away.
I remember the weather being very cold in November (at least where I lived, on the coast and in the mountains), so I suspect that the area around Nagoya will be more than a little chilly at year's end too. My biggest challenge for the next few weeks will be finding warm clothes that fit and can be easily packed (I know I have no chance of buying any over there!).
Otanoshimi ni shiteru ....
